Wisdom Tooth Extraction
Periodontists and maxillofacial surgeons are the two surgical specialists in dentistry who typically perform surgical extraction of wisdom teeth. Dr. Bouffard has more than 25 years of experience extracting third molar teeth. He was trained in a hospital residency to perform all aspects of dental anesthesia and pain control, and prides himself on making this often-feared experience comfortable and pain-free.
Botox© and Dermal Fillers
Dr. Bouffard utilizes Botulinum Toxin in his practice to manage excessive clenching of the teeth and the complications which often arise such as muscle pain and headaches. This therapy is also effective in the treatment of “gummy smiles” and wrinkles on the face and around the mouth. Dermal fillers are used to restore a youthful appearance to the lips and perioral tissues, as well as to plump the gingival (gum) tissue to improve the appearance of receding gums.
Surgically Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontic Surgery (Wilckodontics)
Dr. Bouffard is one of the few dental surgeons in Central Maryland and Rhode Island who is trained and certified in the technique of surgically preparing the osseous tissues of a patient’s jaw in conjunction with orthodonict therapy to greatly shorten the time required for completion of orthodontic therapy.
