South River Periodontics was established by Dr. Robert Bouffard upon completion of a twenty-three year career as an officer in the United States Navy Dental Corps.  The primary focus of this somewhat unconventional periodontal practice is an emphasis on a team concept of restoring our patients to the highest level of health, function and esthetics.  South River Periodontics is committed to a comprehensive form of periodontal treatment which considers the health of the oral cavity as an integral part of the overall systemic health of the individual patient.  To this end, Dr. Bouffard has partnered with several well-established multi-specialty dental practices and renders treatment to his patients in those carefully selected facilities.  The relationship of the referring general dentist or specialist to his or her patients is paramount, and is never interfered with as we accept patients from many referring dentists.

We work closely with the referring dentist to accomplish the patient’s dental treatment goals.  South River Periodontics also partners with many other dental specialists who understand the complex multidisciplinary dental treatment needs many patients require.  We believe a team is only as strong as its weakest link, and therefore strive to build relationships with other doctors who are uniquely talented and capable of rendering the highest quality treatment to our patients.  You will find that South River Periodontics is able to provide the highest quality periodontal and dental implant therapy, using the most effective and up to date technology to achieve your treatment goals.

Dr. Robert A. Bouffard

Dr. Bouffard chose to serve this great nation as an officer in the United States Navy Dental Corps. His father served for 24 years as an enlisted man in the United States Army, and instilled in his son’s a great love for this country and a commitment to serve, to do their part to help keep the rest of us free. Dr. Bouffard served in the Navy for 23 years, and considers those years some of the best of his life.
