Dental Insurance
South River Periodontics participates with several dental insurance plans, and will process claims for our patients regardless of which dental insurance plan they have. Participation varies by location, and it is advisable to consult with the dental insurance coding specialist at your office to understand your dental insurance plan and to help you maximize your benefits. Payment plans and financing are available as well to assist you in affording the treatment indicated. We always develop the most appropriate treatment plan upon consultation with every individual patient and will never compromise our patient’s treatment to accomodate dental insurance mandates. Because dental insurance is not similar to medical insurance, and may or may not be a good value for our patients, I encourage you to read more about dental insurance at:

Q: What type of graft materials does Dr. Bouffard use in his practice?
Lifenet Dental Bone and Soft Tissue Allograft
Bone and soft tissue regeneration often requires use of bone and soft tissue graft materials. Using bone and soft tissue harvested from a different site for the same patient is the gold standard. Simply put, a person’t tissue is their own, the body won’t reject it, it won’t transmit diseases, and in the case of soft tissue it is a good tissue match.
When sufficient tissue is not available to harvest for grafting, alternative tissues must be used. Himan cadaver tissue if very commonly used and generally works very well. Dr. Bouffard only uses graft materials procured from Life Net Tissue Bank, as they are harvested from donors screened for the presence of any transmissible disease, harvested in a sterile manner, and processed in a manner which retains biologic activity, but ensures the materials are safe. Lifenet is a nonprofit organization, and treats its donors with a great deal of respect.
Except in rare instances, synthetic graft materials are not used, and we do not use graft materials harvested from animal sources in our practice.
